Founded in 1953 by the patriarch Yaya Sydi Oumara, Idool is an ethnic mosaic, a welcoming, rich cultural mix with an architectural rarity, a blend of round huts built by men and decorated by women. Idool is also a tourist wonder with four waterfalls (Idool, Mayo Tapare, Guebadi and Tamulde), all protected by Lake “Cameroon”, shaped like the map of Cameroon.
